CITEA: STRENGTHENING THE STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIP WITH INDIA
The Cyprus Information Technology Enterprises Association (CITEA) held a meeting with the High Commissioner of India to Cyprus, Mr. Manish, during which matters of mutual interest were discussed, focusing on strengthening the partnership between the two countries in the fields of technology and innovation.
At the center of the discussion was the upcoming business mission to India, scheduled for May, with the participation of CITEA President, Mr. George Malekkos. The mission aims to enhance business ties, explore new opportunities for the Association’s members, and promote Cyprus as an emerging technology hub in the region.
The longstanding issue of the shortage of specialized human capital faced by member companies in the technology sector was also discussed. In this context, possible ways to address the challenge were examined, including strengthening cooperation with India to attract talent, facilitating employment procedures for highly skilled professionals, and developing joint education and training initiatives.
CITEA President, Mr. George Malekkos, stated: “India is one of the world’s leading hubs for technology and innovation, and strengthening our partnership can create meaningful opportunities for Cypriot businesses. The upcoming business mission represents an important step in this direction, further reinforcing ties between the two ecosystems.”
CITEA expressed its satisfaction with the positive and constructive discussion and reaffirmed its commitment to promoting initiatives that will strengthen Cyprus’ technology ecosystem.
At the same time, the Association continues to enhance its commitment to supporting its members by promoting targeted initiatives, solutions, and collaborations that address the sector’s evolving challenges, with the aim of strengthening their competitiveness and ensuring their sustainable growth.
