The Cyprus Information Technology Enterprises Association (CITEA) was founded in 1987 and is an active member of the World Information Technology and Services Alliance (WITSA), DigitalEurope (European Information Technology Federation), and the Cyprus Employers and Industrialists Federation (OEB).
The aim of the Association is to play a decisive role in the balanced development of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) in the Cypriot economy, acting as a vehicle for change in the development of the information society.
The Association is the representative body of ICT companies on the island and currently counts over 80 member companies covering all sectors of ICT.
VISION AND MISSION
The mission of CITEA is to encourage, promote, and actively enhance the relationships among Cypriot ICT companies, with the aim of better and more effective promotion of ICT in Cyprus, targeting the following:
• To become the pivotal point of support and assistance for any entrepreneurship-related matters of broader interest and value.
• To facilitate, coordinate, and improve the penetration of ICT into the local market in a balanced and effective manner.
• To promote ways and means to adopt ICT solutions and ensure appropriate procurement processes, practices, and standards within the government machinery of Cyprus.
• To establish and maintain regular communication between the members of CITEA and the wider business community in Cyprus.
• To promote Cyprus as an international ICT hub, providing high-level ICT solutions and services to serve the local society, as well as exporting technological expertise and acting as a regional ICT center.
• To promote best practices in ICT in the Cyprus market, aiming to enhance the competitiveness of Cyprus in a globalized economy.
• To represent Cypriot ICT enterprises in international arenas and bodies related to ICT abroad, creating a portfolio of value-added services for its members and future players from the international community.
• To act on issues of general interest (such as the lack of specialized human resources).
