Year of Foundation of CITEA
Cyprus Information Computer Enterprises Association (CITEA) was founded in 1987 and is an active member of the Cyprus Employers and Industrialists Federation (OEB) and the European Information Technology Federation (Digital Europe). Its members are the main representatives of information technology in Cyprus and are the implementers of digital transformation projects in both the public and private sectors.
The purpose of CITEA is to actively encourage, promote, and strengthen the relationships between Cypriot IT businesses, to develop information technology in Cyprus, and to enhance the well-being of our society through the benefits provided by technology utilization.
CITEA is the paramount representative of IT businesses in Cyprus and currently counts more than 90 member companies covering all areas of information technology and communications.
Ο Δημήτρης Νησσιώτης είναι έμπειρος επαγγελματίας και στέλεχος ΤΠΕ, με πάνω από 25 χρόνια εμπειρίας σε διάφορους ρόλους σε ολόκληρο τον κλάδο. Έχει αποκτήσει πολύτιμες γνώσεις για τις τάσεις και τις προόδους στη διεθνή σκηνή του ΤΠΕ και έχει βαθιά κατανόηση του μοναδικού περιβάλλοντος του κλάδου στην Κύπρο, συμπεριλαμβανομένων των πρωτοβουλιών, των εξελίξεων, των περιορισμών και των προκλήσεων που αντιμετωπίζουν οι τοπικοί οργανισμοί και οι τεχνολογικές επιχειρήσεις.
Κατά τη διάρκεια της καριέρας του, ο Δημήτρης συμμετείχε ενεργά σε πολυάριθμα έργα ψηφιακού μετασχηματισμού μεγάλης κλίμακας, για εξέχοντες οργανισμούς τόσο στην Κύπρο όσο και στο εξωτερικό. Με αποδεδειγμένο ιστορικό επιτυχίας στον δημόσιο και τον ιδιωτικό τομέα, ο Δημήτρης και η ομάδα του παρέχουν με συνέπεια αποτελεσματικές και αποδοτικές ψηφιακές λύσεις, δίνοντας τη δυνατότητα στους πελάτες να επιτύχουν τους επιχειρηματικούς τους στόχους.
Ο Δημήτρης απέκτησε το πτυχίο του στην Επιστήμη Υπολογιστών από το Πανεπιστήμιο Κύπρου και είναι βασικό μέλος της NetU Consultants Ltd από το 1997, όπου σήμερα υπηρετεί ως Διευθύνων Σύμβουλος. Είναι Πρόεδρος του Παγκυπρίου Συνδέσμου Επιχειρήσεων Πληροφορικής (CITEA) και είναι μέλος του Διοικητικού Συμβουλίου της Ομοσπονδίας Εργοδοτών & Βιομηχάνων Κύπρου (ΟΕΒ).
Ο Γιώργος Μαλέκκος είναι o CEO & Software Innovation Architect της εταιρείας Powersoft, μέλος του Ευρωπαϊκού Γραφείου Κύπρου και lecturer and train the trainer for Computerized Accounting στα μεγαλύτερα Πανεπιστήμια της χώρας μας. Για σειρά ετών διετέλεσε αντιπρόεδρος, γραμματέας και μέλος του διοικητικού συμβουλίου του Συνδέσμου Εταιρειών Πληροφορικής Citea και είναι ενεργό μέλος του ευρωπαϊκού οργανισμού Cloud Standards Customer Council για τη δημιουργία των ευρωπαϊκών standards στο cloud computing, όπως επίσης και ενεργό μέλος του Digital Advisory Council στην Ευρώπη. Εξειδικεύεται σε ευρωπαϊκά προγράμματα που αφορούν στο χώρο του innovation in IT και είναι ο εισηγητής του ευρωπαϊκού έργου e-powercard, το οποίο περιλαμβάνεται στα success stories της Ευρώπης. Η εταιρεία του για πάνω από 30 χρόνια εξειδικεύετε με λογισμικά που αφορούν τον επιχειρηματικό χώρο και είναι βραβευμένη μεταξύ άλλων και με το Βραβείο Καινοτομίας στον τομέα των επιχειρήσεων από την ΟΕΒ. Είναι ενεργό μέλος των κριτών στο EYA (European Youth award) και στο WSA (world summit awards - οργανισμός ψηφιακής καινοτομίας από 180 διαφορετικές χώρες).
Με περισσότερα από 15 χρόνια εμπειρίας στον κλάδο των τηλεπικοινωνιών και των ISP, ο Μιχάλης είναι εμπειρογνώμονας δικτύων και ασφάλειας, αναγνωρισμένος για τη συμβολή του στην παροχή υπηρεσιών OTT TV, ενσωματώσεις CDN, στρατηγικές μετριασμού DDoS και σχεδιασμούς βασικών δικτύων σε διάφορα έργα και πελάτες. Η θητεία του ως Διευθυντής Μηχανικής Δικτύων Βίντεο στη Vodafone UK τον χαρακτήρισε ως την τεχνική αρχή για την υπηρεσία OTT TV σε σταθερά και κινητά δίκτυα, όπου ηγήθηκε των πτυχών δικτύου των γραμμικών ροών περιεχομένου και των συνεργατών περιεχομένου.
Στα πρώτα χρόνια της καριέρας του, ο Μιχάλης έπαιξε αναπόσπαστο ρόλο σε ένα πλήθος σημαντικών έργων ως ανώτερος μηχανικός συστημάτων και δικτύων, αρχικά με την Spidernet Services και αργότερα στην PrimeTel PLC. Ήταν απαραίτητος για την επιτυχία πολλών σημαντικών προσπαθειών, ιδίως της εισαγωγής μιας νέας πλατφόρμας Voice, της δημιουργίας υπηρεσιών κινητής τηλεφωνίας μέσω MVNO και MNO, και μιας σειράς αναπτύξεων δικτύου σταθερής και κινητής τηλεφωνίας. Οι καθημερινές του αρμοδιότητες περιελάμβαναν την επίβλεψη όλων των τοπικών και διεθνών συνδέσεων και να ενεργεί ως η κύρια επαφή κλιμάκωσης για πολλά τμήματα.
Επί του παρόντος, ο Μιχάλης κατέχει τη θέση του Συνιδρυτή και Διευθύνοντος Συμβούλου της CDMA Services Ltd, οδηγώντας την ομάδα σε πρωτοποριακές λύσεις στον τομέα της ασφάλειας. Το πάθος του για τις αναδυόμενες τεχνολογίες τον ωθεί όχι μόνο να κατακτήσει αυτές τις καινοτομίες αλλά και να μεταδώσει τη γνώση και την τεχνογνωσία του στους συναδέλφους και τους πελάτες του. Ως αφοσιωμένος μέντορας και σύμβουλος, δίνει μεγάλη αξία στη συνεργασία, τη συνεισφορά και την υποστήριξη. Ο πρωταρχικός του στόχος είναι να ενδυναμώσει τους πελάτες του με πρωτοποριακές λύσεις ασφαλείας που προστατεύουν τα περιουσιακά τους στοιχεία και ενισχύουν τη λειτουργική τους απόδοση.
Ο Μιχάλης είναι κάτοχος πτυχίου BSc στην Πληροφορική και πτυχίου MSc στα Συστήματα Δικτύων από το Πανεπιστήμιο του Sunderland.
Ο Ανδρέας Παναγιώτου είναι ο Sales & Business Development Manager της Hellenic Technical Enterprises, θυγατρικής του Ομίλου της Ελληνικής Μεταλλευτικής Εταιρίας, που δραστηριοποιείται σε πολλαπλούς τομείς της οικονομίας του τόπου. H Hellenic Technical Enterprises είναι ένας από τους μεγαλύτερους παρόχους ολοκληρωμένων λύσεως πληροφορικής στην Κύπρο, με μεγάλα και σημαντικά έργα. Ο Andy έχει πάνω από 20 χρόνια εμπειρία στον σχεδιασμό, υλοποίηση, και διαχείριση έργων και διαχείριση ανάπτυξης λογισμικού, τόσο στο δημόσιο, όσο και στον ιδιωτικό τομέα.
Είναι κάτοχος μεταπτυχιακού τίτλου MBA, καθώς και μεταπτυχιακού τίτλου Masters in Organizational Behaviour and Human Resources. Έχει επίσης, Bachelor of Science in Computer Science από το University at Albany, State University of New York, με υποτροφία του Ιδρύματος Fulbright, και είναι απόφοιτος της Αγγλικής Σχολής. Demetris Nissiotis is a seasoned ICT professional and executive, with over 25 years of experience in diverse roles across the industry. He has acquired valuable insights of the trends and advancements in the international ICT arena and has a deep understanding of the unique ICT environment in Cyprus, including the initiatives, developments, limitations and challenges that local organizations and technology enterprises encounter.
Throughout his career, Demetris has been actively involved in numerous large-scale, mission-critical digital transformation projects for prominent organizations both in Cyprus and abroad. With a proven track record of success in the public and private sectors, Demetris and his team have consistently delivered effective and efficient digital solutions, enabling clients to achieve their business objectives.
Demetris earned his BSc degree in Computer Science from the University of Cyprus and has been a key member of NetU Consultants Ltd since 1997, where he currently serves as CEO. He is the President of the Cyprus Information Technology Enterprises Association (CITEA) and serves as a member of the Board of Directors for the Cyprus Employers & Industrialists Federation (OEB).
George Malekkos is a dedicated Software Innovation Architect who focuses on accelerating the successful adoption of cloud technology. Since 1993, he has served as the CEO and founder of Powersoft Cyprus. George is an active Cloud Standards Customer Council (CSCC) member and a workgroup leader for the whitepaper titled "Practical Guide to Cloud Service Level Agreement." Additionally, he has a significant history with the Cyprus Information Technology Enterprises Association (CITEA).
George shares his expertise as a guest lecturer and trains professors at all major universities and colleges in Cyprus, specialising in Computerized Accounting. He has gained valuable experience through his involvement in numerous European projects conducted under Eureka, Eurostars, FP7, and Cornet. He has been the project leader and founder of the highly successful European program Eureka EUNEA/1204/11, specifically the e-Powercard project. His contributions have made it one of the success stories of the Eureka initiative. Moreover, George remains an active member of Digital Europe and has served as one of the 30 members of their Digital Advisory Council.
In addition to his professional roles, George is deeply committed to fostering entrepreneurship and innovation. He mentors and judges in various startup competitions in Cyprus and abroad. Some notable competitions include Digital Champion Cyprus, Hackathon, Microsoft Imagine Cup, EYA - European Youth Award, and Watify. Most recently, he was appointed Cyprus' national expert for the World Summit Awards (WSA). The WSA is dedicated to promoting digital innovation and brings ICT professionals together from 182 different countries.
With over 15 years of experience in the telecommunications and ISP industry, Michalis is a renowned network and security expert, acclaimed for his contributions in delivering OTT TV services, CDN integrations, DDoS mitigation strategies, and core network designs across various projects and clients. His tenure as the Video Network Engineering Manager at Vodafone UK marked him as the technical authority for the OTT TV service over fixed and mobile networks, where he led the network aspects of content partners' linear feeds on-boarding and forged key liaisons with vendors for the incorporation of existing and new technologies and solutions.
During the early years of his career, Michalis played an integral role in a multitude of significant projects as a senior systems and network engineer, initially with Spidernet Services and later at PrimeTel PLC. He was essential to the success of several major endeavors, notably the introduction of a new Voice platform, the establishment of mobile services through MVNO and MNO, and a range of both fixed and mobile network deployments. His daily responsibilities encompassed overseeing all local and international connections and acting as the primary escalation contact for multiple departments.
Currently, Michalis holds the position of Co-Founder and CEO of CDMA Services Ltd, steering the team towards groundbreaking solutions in the security domain. His passion for emerging technologies drives him to not only master these innovations but also to impart his knowledge and expertise to his colleagues and customers. As a dedicated mentor and consultant, he places high value on collaboration, contribution, and support. His overarching goal is to empower his clients with avant-garde security solutions that safeguard their assets and boost their operational performance.
Michalis holds a BSc degree in Information Technology, and a MSc degree in Network Systems from the University of Sunderland.
Andreas is the Sales and Business Development Manager of Hellenic Technical Enterprises, a Systems Integrator, and a subsidiary of the Hellenic Mining Company (EME) with interests in multiple market segments. Hellenic Technical Enterprises delivers solutions in partnership with major international vendors, coupled with local talent and innovation. He has over 20 years experience leading transformation in both the public and private sectors.
He holds a Masters in Business Administration degree, a Masters in Organizational Behaviour and Human Resources, and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from the University at Albany, State University of New York, on a scholarship from the Fulbright foundation. He is also a graduate of The English School, Nicosia. Andy holds multiple IT certifications, and is a certified Project Manager (PRINCE2 Practitioner, PMI PMP), a Disciplined Agile Lean Scrum Master, a Disciplined Agile Senior Scrum Master, Disciplined Agile Coach, and a Disciplined Agile Value Stream Consultant.
Andy is the Treasurer of the Board of Directors of the Cyprus Information Technology Enterprises Organization (CITEA) since December 2021.
